Fentanyl Use on Rise in Massachusetts

In the first nine months of 2016, there were over 1,000 opioid-related deaths in the Bay State. Surprisingly, about 74% of those cases tested positive for Fentanyl, a highly addictive narcotic that’s 50 – 100 times more potent than morphine.

According to Secretary of Health and Human Services Marylou Sudders in a statement, “This is a crisis that touches every corner of our state, and we will continue our urgent focus on expanding treatment access.”
